‘You Say, We Do’
Join our Student Council and make a difference
As well as have lots of fun!
At Cardinal Langley Sixth Form, our Senior Student Council exists to represent the voice of our post-16 students. It’s a fantastic opportunity to get involved, make positive changes, and enjoy being part of a vibrant Sixth Form community. Each summer term, we appoint a Head Boy and Head Girl, along with their Deputies, from our Year 12 cohort. All Year 12 students are encouraged to apply for these leadership roles.
The Senior Council meets fortnightly and plays a key role in shaping Sixth Form life. If you choose to study with us, you’ll have the chance to:
- Lead and organise social events
- Plan the Sixth Form Leavers’ Dinner
- Support the OAP Christmas Social
- Coordinate charity fundraising initiatives
'You Said, We Did'…
Here are just a few things we've achieved based on student feedback:
- Created a quiet study space
- Introduced regular social activities
- Launched a free breakfast club for Sixth Formers
- Celebrated Cultural Day
- Established a dedicated Sixth Form lunch area
- Hosted fundraising concerts
We’ve also started planning:
- The Sixth Form Leavers’ Meal
- A festive trip for Sixth Form students
And we’ve raised money for:
- OAP Christmas Parcels
- The Lighthouse Project
- Cold Hands, Warm Heart
- #HelloYellow – Young Minds Mental Health Day
- Macmillan Coffee Morning

Guardian Angels at Cardinal Langley
At Cardinal Langley, our Guardian Angels play a vital role in upholding the school’s ethos by fostering a positive, welcoming, and safe environment for all students. You’ll find them around the Village Square during lunchtimes, always ready to offer support, guidance, or simply a friendly face.
Students can also reach out to the Guardian Angels via Impero Confide, our safeguarding platform. This allows pupils from Year 7 upwards to report concerns anonymously and securely — whether related to bullying, cyberbullying, racism, or any issue that may affect their wellbeing or that of others.
Interested in Becoming a Guardian Angel?
We currently have 22 Sixth Form students volunteering as Guardian Angels, supporting younger pupils across the school. By joining them, you’ll help ensure that every student at Cardinal Langley feels safe, supported, and happy.
As a Guardian Angel, you’ll receive training, connect with fellow Sixth Formers, and build relationships across year groups. Volunteering not only benefits others — it also helps you grow in confidence, leadership, and empathy.
Make a difference. Become a Guardian Angel today.
