A Level Results 2023-2024
There were many very happy faces at Cardinal Langley RC Sixth Form College this morning where students have excelled at A-level and vocational courses once again, with the vast majority of students now moving on to their first choice of university. Students’ average UCAS point score increased once more and 42% of students achieved grades A* – B with nine students achieving three or more A or A* grades. Teachers and support staff were thrilled to congratulate students today, acknowledging all of the successes and wishing students well as they move on to the next stage on their chosen pathways.
Mr Bridson, Headteacher at Cardinal Langley, said, “We are delighted with our exceptional A Level and BTEC examination results: our students have, yet again, excelled themselves with the majority of students being offered their first choice of destination. The continued resolve, drive and commitment that our students demonstrate is unsurpassable and today’s results reflect the determined effort that they and their teachers and support staff have shown over the last two years. It is pleasing to see our students taking their next steps with confidence and purpose.

- 99.4% pass rate at A-Level with the average grade per entry of a B-.
- 42.2% achieving A* to B at A-level.
- 61.5% achieving Distinction/Distinction* in vocational subjects.
- ALPS Band 2 Provider for Applied General courses (Based on ALPS Benchmark).
- 100% of the cohort went on to gain a place at university, apprenticeship provider or went straight in to employment.
- 28% of students attending University, went onto Russell Group Universities including OxBridge.

A Level Results 2022-2023
Mr Bridson, headteacher at Cardinal Langley, said: “We are very pleased with the excellent A Level and BTEC examination results that our students have achieved, with the majority of students being offered their first choice of destination.
“These results reflect the tireless work that they and their teachers have undertaken during the last two years – their determination and commitment has been exceptional and there is no greater reward than to see our students move on to their next stage.

Highlights from 2022-2023
We had another excellent year in 2023, and we continue to compete with the best for student progress!
- 99.3% pass rate at A-Level with the average grade per entry of a C+.
- 34.2% achieving A* to B at A-level.
- ALPS Band 5 Provider for A-Level (Based on ALPS Benchmark).
- 29.4% achieving Distinction/Distinction* in vocational subjects .
- 100% of the cohort went on to gain a place at university, apprenticeship provider or went straight in to employment.
A Level Results 2021-2022
Cardinal Langley’s Sixth Form students have, yet again, excelled at A-level and vocational courses with the vast majority now moving on to their first choice of university. Teachers were delighted to see students today to congratulate everyone, not simply on their academic achievements, but also for making it through an incredibly tough two years. This year’s results are particularly impressive considering students were unable to sit GCSE exams in 2020 and so this summer’s exams were the first external assessments taken.

They have worked tirelessly, as have staff, and we are privileged to have known each one of them. Their excellent outcomes reflect their commitment and resolve and there is no greater reward than to see our students progress on their desired pathways.
“The past two years have been extremely unsettling for students as well as teachers but the quality of work our students produce continues to amaze us and we are delighted with these exceptional results. Many students have exceeded their expectations and the vast majority of students have been successful in their university and apprenticeship applications. It’s a tremendous achievement, and we are very proud of every one.”

- 100% of the cohort went on to gain a place at university, apprenticeship provider or went straight in to employment.
A-level Results 2020 – 2021

The past six months have been extremely unsettling for students as well as teachers but the quality of work our students produce continues to amaze us and we are delighted with their efforts. Of course, this year’s results are particularly impressive considering the constraints placed upon us and our students thoroughly deserve their success.
“We are honoured to know each one of our students; their wonderful outcomes are a reflection of their dedication and perseverance. Many have exceeded their expectations and they are now looking forward to their next steps, either at university or starting apprenticeships.”

Results 2018 -2019
Students at Cardinal Langley Sixth Form have again excelled with a 100% pass rate at both A-level and vocational courses. Our results this year show that we continue to compete with the best. We are delighted that so many students have exceeded their expectations with our BTEC results placing us in the top 25% of schools in the country.

- 98% pass rate at A-Level with the average grade per entry of a B-
- 51% achieving A* to B at A-level
- 50% achieving Distinction/Distinction* in vocational subjects
- 98% of the cohort went on to gain a place at university, apprenticeship provider or went straight in to employment.
- Over a quarter of our cohort gained a place at a Russell Group university.
We ensure our students are fully prepared for their exams and support and guidance is on hand daily to make sure that every student reaches their potential with us. We are extremely proud of our Class of 2018!
Results 2016 – 2017
We had another excellent year in 2017 and were in the top 25% of schools and colleges nationally for A-levels, AS levels and BTEC. We are proud of what our students achieved.
- 100% pass rate at A-Level
- 79% achieving A* to C at A-level
- 79% achieving Distinction* in vocational subjects
- Average grade per entry of a B-
- 77% of the cohort went on to gain a place at university, with over a quarter gaining a place at Russell Group university.
Our students our well prepared for the changes to Sixth Form qualifications and are given specific support to help them adjust to the new requirements.
