The Sixth Form Team

Sixth Form Tutors are the first point of contact for students whilst in the Sixth Form and they will deal with the majority of questions or concerns that may arise. For more serious issues, our Sixth Form Ambassador, Mrs Farrell, is there to support students and parents in terms of their academic progress and for any major pastoral issues that may arise.

The key personnel in the running of the Sixth Form are:

Mr A Greaves – Head of Sixth Form, Senior Assistant Headteacher,
Mr D Gillespie – Assistant Head of Sixth Form
Mrs H Farrell – Sixth Form Ambassador

When you join us in Sixth Form, you’ll be allocated a tutor and they will carry on with you into Year 13, staying with you on your entire two-year journey. They are an experienced, caring, very professional bunch and will do all they can to ensure you are supported as much as possible during your time with us.

Our Tutors are:

Mr J Kiff, History & Politics
Ms S Hamm, MFL (OxBridge Tutor)
Mr M O’Loughlin, MFL

All rules concerning attendance, academic work and behaviour have been created with the intention of making students feel that they are treated as adults. The consequence of this is that the demands placed on students will reflect this adult status.

Working relationships between Sixth Formers and staff are usually different from those experienced in Years 7-11. However, students should be reminded that clear and effective communication is expected and it is their responsibility to talk to teachers if work is going to be late or if lessons are going to be missed. Independence and proactivity is encouraged.

Students at Cardinal Langley benefit from the exceptionally good pastoral support
that they receive through the Sixth Form team.
It is our vocation to ensure that every student achieves their aspirations.
